The former Red Bull boss says he is happy outside F1 and would only return for the right opportunity with people who want to win. Crucially, he does not want to come back simply as a hired team principal — ownership or equity would matter. 🔴 F1 NEWS: FERRARI’S BIGGER PROBLEM Lewis Hamilton’s Singapore strategy mistake dominated the headlines, but Ferrari’s pace data may be more worrying. Analysis highlighted the SF-26 losing close to four-tenths on the straights compared with Mercedes in Singapore — a huge deficit at a circuit that is not even dominated by long straights. Ferrari still has aerodynamic upgrades coming, but its power-unit weakness remains a major limitation. 🔵 F1 NEWS: RED BULL ENGINE HAS MORE TO COME Pierre Waché says Red Bull-Ford’s first in-house power unit is only around “four or five” out of ten in terms of its potential, despite the FIA already rating its ICE as the benchmark. That matters because rivals have received extra ADUO development opportunities while Red Bull has not. If Red Bull genuinely has this much performance still untapped, rivals may be even less keen to loosen the rules in its favour. 🧡 F1 NEWS: McLAREN CAN’T FULLY FIX THIS UNTIL 2027 Andrea Stella admits McLaren’s difficult handling characteristic needs fundamental changes that cannot arrive before the 2027 MCL41. Lando Norris says the car is on a knife edge and mentally draining to drive, while Oscar Piastri’s naturally smoother style has been hit harder by the problem. 🔥 F1 NEWS: V8 ENGINES RETURN IN 2030 FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem says Formula 1 will return to V8 engines in 2030. The plan is for a simpler, lighter and cheaper power unit with far less electrical contribution than today’s cars, while sustainable fuels remain central to the concept. 👇 JOIN THE F1 DEBATE Would Horner actually be a good fit for Ferrari? Is Ferrari’s power-unit deficit now its biggest problem? Should Red Bull be allowed more engine development? Can McLaren stay competitive with this handling weakness?
